HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Three people were on the run after a police chase through Houston occurred this morning.

Houston police say the chase began in Pearland after the suspected burglars stole from homes in the Shadow Creek Ranch neighborhoods off Broadway Street and Kirby Drive.

Some people may still not realize they've been hit.

The men stole items that would mainly be found inside a garage.

Officers were able to find the thieves quickly because of the neighborhood's video system.

Surveillance cameras at one of the entrances recorded a silver pickup leaving around the time a burglary was reported.

Police found that truck at the Kirby and Broadway intersection, where officers tried to make a traffic stop. That's when the driver took off.

The chase lasted close to an hour, from 288 to 59 to 610, at least 20 miles long.

When the pickup eventually stopped at 288 and Lockwood, the 3 men in the truck took off.

Officers tried to chase them, but they got away.

Investigators recovered several pieces of evidence from the pickup.

"There were some burglary tools that were located inside that vehicle," said Officer Jason Wells with Pearland Police. "So, it's apparent what they were out doing that night."
