Hit and run driver kills a mother on a bike
Police are searching for the driver of a dark gray car who killed a young, single mother on the Beltway 8 feeder road.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- "This is my daughter. She was 21 years old, living her life, wasn't looking for any trouble."

Dontreal Taylor wants you to take good look at his daughter.

Tasheanna Kennedy was a single mother of two before her life was cut short.

"The Harris County chaplain came to the door, knocked on it and told me she was deceased," Taylor said.

The victim's father is still trying to wrap his head around who would hit his daughter and leave her for dead.

Investigators said on Saturday morning around 11:30 a.m., Kennedy was riding a bike along the feeder lane of East Sam Houston Parkway.

Detectives say a dark grey car hit Kennedy from behind, knocking her off the bike and into a ditch, where she died.

"We're trying to bring justice for her me and her kids. Y'all took her away from us, so if you're watching turn yourself in or something because whatever you do in the dark will come to the light," Taylor said.

Tonight, so many unanswered questions. Family members tell me Kennedy was not even known for riding bikes, and didn't own one.

"She just so happen to be on the bicycle that day, I don't know why," Taylor said.

Deputies are still investigating the hit and run while this father is searching for answers and hoping for justice...

"I'm just still puzzled what was she doing anyway, up that way?" Taylor asked.
