Houston ISD school bells will ring Monday morning for students at 202 of its schools. Those at its remaining 80+ campuses will have up to two weeks more before starting class.

Flooding from Harvey made the original Aug. 28 start date impossible. Some of the buildings will take a long time to repair, which means the students set to attend them will go to class elsewhere.

"They're going to be on a whole different campus for that day," said HISD spokesperson Tracy Clemons. "We're still working on where those campuses are going to be and how those campuses are going to look."

HISD is phasing in the first day of school. The first and largest group will start Monday. The next group will start Sept. 18. A third start date involving students at the schools that had the most flood damage is set for Sept. 25. Those are the students that may start the school year at other campuses unless repairs are completed in time.

For information on start dates for individual schools, go to houstonisd.org and search the Harvey section.

Katy ISD, Spring ISD, Clear Creek ISD, and Pasadena ISD also begin Monday.

Here is a complete list of scheduled school openings.
