21-year-old killed during apparent burglary-in-progress in Katy

KATY, TX (KTRK) -- A man was shot and killed Friday afternoon when he apparently interrupted a burglary at a home in Katy.

Deputies found Devonte Hardison, 21, shot to death inside a home in the 19000 block of Upland Creek Drive.

Investigators say Hardison was asked to check on the house after his mother learned the alarm was set off. Authorities say it appears Hardison walked in on a burglary in progress when he was killed.

There are no suspects at this time.
