2-vehicle crash involving tow truck, Mercedes under investigation

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash involving a tow truck just northwest of downtown.

The accident happened northbound on Frontage Road of IH-10 at Durham near the Shepherd Drive exit.

Police are investigating whether the tow truck driver ran a red light, slamming into the side of a Mercedes.

Witnesses told Eyewitness News the the tow truck driver ran through the red light, hitting the Mercedes.

Three people were transported to Ben Taub Hospital. Injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.
