'Dancing with the Stars' Erika Jayne: "I'm happy being 45"
The dance club superstar is using her position to bring power to women

LOS ANGELES, California -- She's a triple threat: Erika Jayne can sing, she can dance, and she can act, as illustrated alongside her "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" co-star and soap actress Eileen Davidson.

But Jayne also hopes to use her platform on "Dancing with the Stars" to empower women of all ages.

"Someone said to me, you know, how do you feel about dancing against Simone Biles, she's 20 years old?" Jayne told ABC News. "I said, I don't wanna be 20 years old anymore. I'm happy being 45."

Before Jayne became an international performer, she was known as Erika Girardi, the doting mother and wife to high-powered attorney Tom Girardi.

While Jayne said she had everything she wanted, including every thinkable material comfort, she wanted more.

"I was hiding from me," Jayne said. "I was hiding from sparkle and magic and fun and fearlessness and music and dance and creative magic."

Stepping out from the shadows, Jayne is now a celebrated dance club performer and reality TV star in her own right.

She's also being well received as an unabashed supporter of women on social media.

"Women my age are valuable and we have a lot more life to live and we have so much more to give," Jayne said. "And all of those old rules, they've been broken. That's old way of thinking."
