LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) --A constable who was hit by a car while directing traffic in mid-February is improving and communicating well, according to Liberty County officials.
Liberty County constable Justin Johnston was struck by a vehicle when a driver, identified as Samuel Leyva, tried to pass a line of cars and ended up launching vehicles toward Johnston, authorities said.
The Department of Public Safety was still waiting on blood test results to determine if Leyva had anything in his system of the time.
