HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are searching for suspects in a deadly drive-by shooting.

Detectives say it happened after midnight on Saturday morning. A group of five friends were standing outside of a home on Chimira in Sunnyside. Investigators say the suspects drove by and began firing shots at two different homes.

Officers say the bullets hit a van in the home of one driveway, no one was hurt there. Then the suspects began firing at the home next door. Officers ay at that home, the victim and a group of his friends were outside. There were also people inside of the home as well.

"Drove by from the east side of the street, fired into the street and when they heard gun shots, people from inside the house, cousins came out and was told the victim was there on the driveway," said Detective Jospeh Nguyen with the Houston Police Department.

Investigators believe the victim or someone in the group was targeted. One person was shot and killed.

The victim is described as being a veteran in his 20's.

Officers have little suspect description at this time. Police are looking for a black Chevy Impala possibly a 2005 to 2009 model.
