SAN JOSE, CA (KTRK) -- Some Kanye West fans reacted in anger in California Thursday night after saying he supports Donald Trump.

The rapper and artist told a crowd at his San Jose concert that the president-elect would have gotten his vote if he'd bothered to show up at a ballot box.

West then argued with some in the audience about what the admission actually meant.

"That don't mean that I don't think Black lives matter. That doesn't mean...I don't believe in women's rights," West said.

"That don't mean I don't believe in gay marriage. That don't mean I don't believe in your stance because that is the guy I would have voted for."

While some fans backed him up with shouts of Trump's name, others walked out of the show and shouted at the performer.

"We are a racist country, period," West continued.

Part of his diatribe was devoted to talking about racism as a distraction, and that no presidential candidate had the power to change race relations in America.
