A Spring father was fatally shot in the head; investigators are looking at the son as a suspect.

SPRING (KTRK) -- A Spring area father was found dead in his home at the 3000 block of Flaming Candle and Candleview Drive this morning.

Son suspected of killing father

Detectives are saying that the 58-year-old father was shot in the face.

After the shooting, the 22-year-old son, who injured his foot, left the house around 3am.

He crashed his car into another car in Conroe near I-45 and 1488.

The son ran from the scene and his girlfriend took him back to the house and called 911.

Investigators do not believe the girlfriend was a witness to the shooting.

According to the deputy on scene, the son was taken into an ambulance where his hands were bagged to preserve any gun powder residue that may be on them.

There have been a number of disturbance calls responding to the residence where the shooting happened.

The name of the victim and suspect have not been released.

The name of the suspect has not been released.

Right now HSCO working to get search warrant and say that the son is on prescription medication for "mental issues."
