HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A thief in northwest Harris County does not take the time to put his drink down before he steals a bike. He and his friend are being tied to several neighborhood thefts.

"If I came to your house and stole your bike, how would you feel?" asked 9-year-old Owen Cox, whose bike was stolen.

Neighbors say two teens caught on surveillance video broke into several cars in the Lakewood Glen neighborhood recently.

The surveillance camera at his home in Lakewood Glen recorded the crime late Tuesday night. Owen and his twin brother, Christopher, left their bikes outside near their garage. The video shows one thief, barefoot and holding a drink, cautiously walk up the driveway. He first checks the tires on Christopher's bike before deciding to take Owen's.

"I was pretty upset about it," said Owen.

The video also shows another thief rummaging through their parents' parked vehicles. David Cox, the boys' father, noticed the missing bike the next morning and checked his camera.

"It's always shocking to see someone walking on your personal property and taking your possessions. It's a pretty blatant thing to do," Cox told Eyewitness News.

Several other neighbors reported burglaries. Cox wants people to see the video.

"I just hate to see someone think they have the right to someone else's property," Cox said.

Owen wants the thieves to face some consequences.

"If you steal something, you shouldn't get away with it."

If you have any information about the people in the video, you're asked to call the Harris County Sheriff's Office or the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.
