HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman is now charged with assault after authorities say she attacked a family member with a cup of coffee and assaulted a deputy on Sunday.

The Precinct 4 Constable's Office says when deputies responded to the 11300 block of Angelique Drive for a family disturbance call, a woman claimed Jamie Deann Schaunaman punched her in the back of her head multiple times and poured a hot cup of coffee on her face.

Authorities say when deputies tried to speak with Schaunaman, she charged after the victim and then assaulted one of the deputies, causing minor injuries.

Schaunaman was arrested and charged with assaulting a family member and a public servant, and booked into the Harris County jail.
