Man fatally struck while trying to pull truck from ditch along Veterans Memorial

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man has died after he was struck by a truck as he tried to pull his vehicle from a ditch along Veterans Memorial in northwest Harris County.

We're told by the Harris County Sheriff's Office that a man was standing outside a truck in the dark near Kelly Lane. The truck was stuck in a ditch and he and another person were trying to hook the truck up to a car to pull it out.

Then, a truck came down Kelly Lane and hit the man. The other person where the truck was stuck, we're told, was not hurt.

Authorities have not released the identity of the person who was hit.
