Good Samaritan, Coast Guard rescue 26 people from sinking boat.

SAN DIEGO, CA (KTRK) -- Jordan Lavine was one of 21 passengers onboard the Invicta for a fishing trip near the Coronado Islands.

5 crew members were onboard too when around 5am the boat crashed into some rocks.

"I expected to have a good fishing trip then things went bad," said Jordan Lavine, passenger. "It was like running into a brick wall got a 70 foot boat running into an island it's pretty crazy."

A call went into the Coast Guard as the 64 foot sportfishing vessel began taking on water.

The crew deployed life rafts.

An urgent broadcast went out to other boats in the area and the Coast Guard launched its helicopter and contacted Mexican authorities to get permission to enter their waters.

Fortunately the boat, The Sweet Marie, was nearby and stepped to help.

Passengers were transferred and only one person suffered a minor back injury but everyone else was ok.

They were brought to the Harbor Police dock dressed in life jackets and some were wearing blankets.

The Coast Guard says it's now launching an investigation into what caused the crash.

"There is always an investigation those investigations do include drug and alcohol testing."
