Fans prepare for big kickoff against Oklahoma
Fans prepare for the big kickoff against Oklahoma.

The Texas Kickoff between the University of Houston and Oklahoma is not just the biggest ticket in Houston Saturday, it might be the biggest college football game of the weekend.

"OU in general is such a good team, to be able to show off our talents against them is going to be amazing," said UH freshman, Cameron Bass.

On campus, Cougar Pride is red hot and for Tiffany Dewberry, this is her first game since starting at UH.

"You can't even describe how hyped we are, how lit we are, how excited we are for this game," said Dewberry.

However, the Cougar red will not be in the only color in the stands at NRG. Houston is home to thousands of Sooners' alums and fans plan to represent the crimson and cream.

"I know Houston is talented, they have a very talented quarterback," said OU former player, Paul Migliazzo. "We lost a lot of kids last year but I expect Oklahoma to come out and dominate the line of scrimmage and I expect a pretty good win."

The game Saturday at NRG is sold out. However, third party ticket sites like StubHub still have some tickets available starting around $45 and going all the way up to $350 for mid-level.

Fans on both sides agree OU had no idea what they were signing up for when the game was scheduled a couple of years ago.

"When this game was announced several years ago I didn't think it would become the game that it is today but I am so pumped up," said OU alum, Wallis Marsh said.

"I know OU when they signed up for this game they thought it was going to be a tune up game and they didn't expect Tom Herman to take over and really turn over this program into something incredible," said UH student, Elliot Kauffman. said,
