Man dies in head-on collision on Beaumont Hwy

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- Investigators are trying to determine why a man died in a head-on collision in northeast Harris County on August 21.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim as Jesus Bermejo-Alvarado.

Bermejo-Alvarado was driving a maroon Honda Accord traveling eastbound in the 13500 block of Hwy 90 around 8:20am.

The HCSO says Bermejo-Alvarado crossed over the center line and crashed head on with Mauro Camarillo-Mendiola who was driving a Dodge Ram 1500 traveling westbound.

Bermejo-Alvarado's girlfriend stated that he had just left her residence prior to the crash was tired when he left.

Bermejo-Alvarado died at the scene. Camarillo-Mendiola was treated and released where the wreck happened.

Investigators do not believe alcohol played a factor in the crash.
