Shirtless man faces charges for stealing a Spring ISD bus, Chauncy Glover reports.

SPRING, TX (KTRK) -- A 21-year-old man is due in court today after police say he stole a Spring ISD bus and crashed it.

Spring ISD police officers say Oscar Nunez Jimenez was shirtless when he jumped the fence at the Spring ISD bus barn Tuesday morning on Richey Road and stole a bus from the facility.

Jimenez allegedly got into a bus that was about to be washed. Fortunately, there were no kids inside the vehicle.

Surveillance video from inside the bus shows Jimenez driving the bus off the property, and the moment of impact when the bus collides with another vehicle. The impact from the crash caused Jimenez to fly out of the driver's seat and sent papers flying all around the bus.

He's clearly stunned by the crash but moments later he can be seen leaving out of the back of the bus and trying to run away.

The joy ride ended with Jimenez in handcuffs.

Spring ISD released a statement which reads in part:

Thankfully, no injuries were reported and Spring ISD Police were able to quickly locate the bus and apprehended the suspect.

Jimenez is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
