Teen accidentally shoots, kills boyfriend in SE Houston
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Investigators say a 19-year-old man is dead after a shooting involving his girlfriend in southeast Houston.
The deadly shooting happened just after midnight at a home on Sageland Drive at Sagedowne Lane.
Homicide detectives say Jacob Lara's 16-year-old girlfriend accidentally shot him. The girl called 911 to get help, but Lara died from the gunshot wound.
Police say Lara and the teen were talking while she was holding a gun and attempting to make it safe. At this time, it appears the gun accidentally discharged, striking Lara in the face.
