GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- Moody Gardens is celebrating Shark Week with lectures, art activities, movies, and more.

The idea is to teach visitors about the mysterious predators.

"They're not looking to eat people. We're not on their menu," explained Greg Whittaker, who runs the animal breeding program.

"Most often what you see is a case of mistaken identity. Here in our waters, the water is very murky a lot of the times so there's very low visibility," he said.

Those looking to enjoy "Shark U Week" can purchase their tickets online and receive $5 off of the adult admission price to the Aquarium Pyramid from June 26 through July 2.
