Families express concerns over safety at Disney World
Families camping near Walt Disney World are on edge tonight after an alligator killed a 2-year-old boy on Disney property.

ORLANDO, FL (KTRK) -- Families camping near Walt Disney World are on edge after an alligator killed a 2-year-old boy on Disney property.

Vince Arnold, his wife and young children are camping about 15 minutes away from the Disney Resort where the gator attack happened.

"I'm gonna be honest with you," Arnold said, "if I can't see the bottom, I'm only going so far. I'm a parent, so that would be the absolute worst situation."

Arnold and other campers are on edge Wednesday night, despite being experienced in the outdoors.

Paul Scanlon lives at Tropical Palms campgrounds.

"Yeah, I'm a little bit more aware of it, you know there's woods that I go back in, and I know there's an alligator back over here a little ways," Scanlon said. "There was a camper here the other day, the water was high and I warned him, hey, there's an alligator out here, be careful."

At Tropical Palms, signs warning visitors about possible alligators are clearly posted. Scanlon wonders if Disney could have done more to prevent this tragic attack.

"Maybe it should have been posted a little bit more, you know," Scanlon said. "Do not enter the water, alligators are here, you know."

Arnold is keeping his children extra close.
