Surveillance footage from a nearby business captured the crash.

"I just started praying because I knew it was the mail lady. I just talked to her," said one eyewitness who asked not to be identified.

She recorded video of the moments after the crash, she says, to preserve the scene, capturing images of those who were there before authorities arrived. "That could have been me and my kids and I would want somebody to witness that and tell what happened. She could have been unconscious," she said.

Police arrested Chiristopher Lazaro and Jose Pablo Leija-Ambriz following the crash.

Police say two men were arrested. Both are charged with street racing: Chiristopher Lazaro and Jose Pablo Leija-Ambriz. Investigators say Leija-Ambriz was driving the truck that hit the postal carrier.

It's not yet clear if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

The victim's son tells abc13 she had to be cut from the wreckage. He says she underwent spinal surgery, was treated for blood in her lungs and was on heavy pain medication, but should make a full recovery.
