SPRING, TX (KTRK) -- Carmel Haskin's home is getting stripped down and dried out after flood waters poured into her Spring home.

"It was brown, you couldn't see anything, it smelled like a port-a-potty and it was here for twenty hours," said Haskin.

Her only way around was by boat.

"At night, I kind of lose it that's when I have my meltdowns and I can't sleep," said Haskin.

Then she had a dream come true. Volunteers from Champion Forest Baptist Church and Faith Bridge Church arrived in force. They worked on repairing the hardwood floors, cabinets and got rid of carpet and that's not all.

"I got up this morning and all my trash had been taken away by the like, the trash fairy. Who came? You know?," said Haskin.

The volunteers are helping dozens of families in the Spring area. They're spirit and generosity has given Haskin the strength to get through.

"Right now, it's a house. It's not a home per se. We're going to turn it back to a home," added Haskin.
