SUGAR LAND, TX (KTRK) -- Four armed men broke into a Sugar Land home over the weekend, assaulting an inhabitant and making off with cash.
According to police, four African American men wearing hoodies and masks entered a home on the 1300 block of Pristine Way just after 11pm on Monday evening.
The group made its way to the master bedroom, where a man and a woman were watching television. The woman successfully escaped through a back door as the assailants held the man at gunpoint and demanded cash and jewelry.
After the victim complied, the armed men proceeded to pistol whip him and place a pillowcase over his head as they ransacked the rest of the house and escaped.
Upon arrival, police noted that the home smelled strongly of marijuana. Officers recovered a purse that contained marijuana from the home's yard.
The investigation is ongoing.
