SAN ANTONIO, TX (KTRK) --A San Antonio security officer caught on video slamming a middle school student to the ground is now out of a job.
San Antonio ISD officials say they've terminated Officer Joshua Kehm, effective immediately.
Kehm was captured on video back on March 29 slamming a Rhodes student down.
"As educators, it is our responsibility to provide a safe environment for all of our students," said SAISD Superintendent Pedro Martinez. "We understand that situations can sometimes escalate to the point of requiring a physical response; however, in this situation we believe that the extent of the response was absolutely unwarranted.
The district's investigation is continuing, as they try to determine if any additional actions are necessary. Police are also investigating.
