Search underway for drive-by shooter in SW Houston
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are searching for a drive-by shooter in southwest Houston. We're hearing one person was shot multiple times and is now at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
The shooting happened at Brookmeade near W. Orem.
That person's condition is unknown at this time, but HISD says the shooting victim is a former student from Madison High. Houston police say the student has recently been kicked out of school.
Madison High School was briefly placed on lockdown today.
Police have yet to identify a suspect. No one is in custody.
At the scene, there is crime scene tape and shell casings seen on the ground.
