Runners lined up on this cool Saturday morning at McKinney Street at Smith Street near Hermann Park. Race participants did the four-mile run for health, for fun and also to benefit Lone Star Veterans Association.

Annie Hunnell, chair of the military committee, says the group is thrilled with the record-setting turnout.

"Truly helps our active military transition to civilian life," Hunnell says. "We've created an amazing veteran community. Truly this has been a group effort."
