HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Deputies are still searching for answers in a northwest Harris County shooting that sent a man to the hospital Wednesday evening.

The investigation is happening in the 2800 block of Broad Haven Drive, where detectives say the victim drove after he was shot at a nearby gas station.

Tony Nguyen, a friend of the victim, tells Eyewitness News his friend was at the gas station to buy cigarettes when the suspect jumped in the car, demanded his wallet and then shot him. The suspect then jumped out of the car and fired three more shots.

Police say the victim was shot in the chest. The back window of his car, a black Honda, was shattered.

The victim was conscious when paramedics arrived to transport him to Ben Taub General Hospital. He's expected to survive.

Authorities haven't yet said whether they are looking for a suspect or if one has been detained.
