Preparations continue for Final Four weekend in Houston
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Final preparations are underway for this weekend's Final Four tournament. The men's basketball tournament also means a financial boost for businesses all around the city of Houston.
As of Wednesday, Discovery Green is still a construction zone for the mad dash to finish preparations before fans arrive. The park will be home to the March Madness Music Festival throughout the weekend.
"We're going to have a lot of fun and you get these free concerts," tourist Michael Tomkins said.
A lot of visitors and full airports are expected for Thursday and Friday.
"We've got lots of volunteers and folks at both airports greeting them," Rachel Quan said. Quan, the VP of the Houston Final Four Organizing Committee, expects 70,000 fans to the Houston area.
Currently, there are still hotel rooms available.
