One dead after head-on collison in North Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- At least one person is dead after a fatal head-on collision in North Harris County.

Police were called to the scene on 1000 block of W. Mt Houston Rd, right off I-45 late Sunday. According to investigators, the driver of a silver Nissan truck was heading eastbound on W. Mt Houston when he swerved left of center and crashed head-on with an Impala heading westbound.

The female driver of the Impala died at the scene, while her male passenger is in critical condition and the two backseat passengers are in stable condition.

Investigators say the driver of the truck was found to be intoxicated and is facing charges of intoxicated manslaughter.
