HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A group of military veterans are once again serving their community, this time helping to rebuild a local church.

Several groups are gathered at the True Life Church of God and Christ on East 31st Street near Yale Street in north Houston.

Members of The Mission Continues, Wounded Warrior Project, VFW Post 8790 and the American Legion are there with hammers in hand, helping to restore a church that is in need of some serious repairs, according to volunteer Amanda Dishman.
