HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A fire at a popular chain restaurant in southwest Houston sent one firefighter to a hospital Wednesday evening.
The fire broke out around 7:20pm at the P.F. Changs in the 11600 block of Westheimer.
HFD says the fire was in an exterior wall and spread to the roof area. It was deemed under control by 8:30pm.
One firefighter was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center for observation. No other injuries have been reported.
Firefighters were still at the scene late Wednesday night controlling hot spots.
Customers were all safely evacuated.
"These firefighters are to be commended. They're doing an absolutely great job," one witness said.
It's still unclear how much damage was caused to the restaurant.
