HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are investigating after a body was discovered in west Houston Wednesday.

Police believe the body is that of a black woman in her 20s. They believe she had been out there for 24 to 48 hours.

People in the area are on edge because this discovery happened as investigators are also searching for a 14-year-old Hispanic girl named Adriana Coronado, who went missing from this area on Saturday.

She lives just six miles away from where the body was found and her family has been there, trying to get more information.

But investigators at this point don't believe Coronado's disappearance is related to this victim. Luke Rios, a gardener, found her body just after noon.

"I feel bad because I've never seen anything like that," he said

"This little girl has been missing for a couple of days and when we found out it was a little girl, you know, quite naturally, we were concerned," said Samuel Phelps, who lives nearby.

Police say they don't see any major injuries on this body, but do believe foul play was involved.
