Chase near rodeo ends with 1 in custody, drug find, police say

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Officers patrolling around the rodeo were involved in a chase last night near NRG Stadium.

It started when they saw a suspicious car around 11pm and tried to stop it. However, the driver sped off, eventually stopping at Yellowstone Boulevard and England Street. Both the driver and passenger got out and ran. Police caught the passenger, but the driver got away.

Houston Police Department's Lt. Larry Crowson said, "Of course we're always on the lookout during the rodeo for car burglaries, car thefts, stuff like that. So hopefully the officers interrupted a little crime tonight."

Police say they found marijuana and cocaine inside the car.
