Girl, 12, killed while crossing the street near Pasadena

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Pasadena school officials confirm a 12-year-old student has died after being struck by a car.

The accident happened just before 5pm Thursday at Allen Genoa and Allendale.

The girl was attempting to cross the street near her home when a driver struck the student.

She was transported to the hospital, but later died.

Pasadena Police say the driver stopped to render aid, and told officers they didn't see the girl.

No charges have been filed against the driver.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to assist the family with funeral expenses.
