Young man found lying in the road after shooting on Houston's southside

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- At least one person has been injured in a shooting on Houston's southside.

The shooting happened a few blocks away on Segrist Street at Scott Street.

Apparently this was the continuation of an earlier incident.

Houston Police say as they were coming to the area they got another call about a victim in the street on Akard Street.

Police saw two vehicles and the victim in the road, with the people from the other vehicle trying to help the person who had been shot.

Apparently this stemmed from a dispute from earlier in the evening but police would not elaborate on that.

The victim's family was at the scene. They did not want to go on camera, but we learned the victim is a young man. We were told that a witness is being questioned about what happened but no suspects are in custody.
