Recent car burglaries causing concern in Alief neighborhood

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- At least five cars were broken into on Veridian Grove Drive in Alief early Sunday morning.

"We are scared right now. Our cars are open," said Summiya Rizwan.

Most of the homeowners didn't have anything valuable inside, so the criminals didn't get away with much.

However, they did take their feeling of safety.

"Police told us to install all these security cameras for our security and we did that. We had an alarm in the house, but still we are not feeling safe," said Rizwan Ahmed.

Residents are now asking police for extra patrols in the area.
