HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A group of kids were able to live out their gridiron dreams Wednesday through a football training camp with Houston Texans' Christian Covington.

Covington, along with Freebirds and the Sunshine Kids Foundation, welcomed 100 cancer patients and their siblings to participate in the camp.

The rookie defensive tackle posed for photos, signed autographs and offered encouragement to the group of kids. Of course, he also showed them the basic elements of football.

"They give me such hope," Covington added.
