Man charged in couple's murder in SE Houston
Patrick Denton is accused of fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend and another man.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Charges have been filed against a man suspected in the fatal shooting of two people in southeast Houston.

Patrick Denton, 48, is charged in the capital murder of his ex-girlfriend, Tina Carter, 38, and Nicholas Copeland, 27.

Both were killed around 5am Monday at a home on Rosemont Street near Scott Street.

Witnesses say they saw Denton enter the home where the couple was fatally shot.

Denton is accused of then fleeing the scene.
