1 dead, 1 injured in shooting at north Harris County apartment complex

HARRIS COUNTY (KTRK) -- One man was shot to death, another wounded in a shooting at a north Harris County apartment Sunday afternoon. That person was taken by private car to a hospital for treatment.

Gunfire was heard coming from the unit at the Rock Creek Apartments, located in the 100 block of Hollow Tree Lane, around 2 pm. Investigators say witnesses reported four men running from the apartment, making their exit in a grey sedan, possibly an Impala, that had duct tape across the rear window.

There was no sign of forced entry to the apartment, however, investigators say a large quantity of drugs was found inside the unit.

The man who was killed was described as being in his 40's. The man who was wounded is believed to be in his 20's. The homicide victim's name has not yet been released.

Detectives did not say if either man lived at the apartment.
