LINN VALLEY, KS (KTRK) -- A Kansas police chief saved a man's life after a car burst into flames, and the rescue was captured on camera.

Chief Corey Murrison was the first to respond to the fire. He found a totally engulfed Buick and its owner lying just a few feet away. That's when Murrison can be seen running up to the man and dragging him away from the fire.

KSHB reports ammunition inside the car was exploding as paramedics worked on the driver, according to firefighters.

Murrison told KSHB, "When you show up, none of that stuff is really going through your mind, you just see what's going on, and you react to what you need to do at that time."

The man was treated for smoke inhalation. KSHB reports investigators suspect the driver was attempting to commit suicide and caused the fire.
