Dashcam video records 2-year-old walking alone on Oregon highway

NEWPORT, OR (KTRK) -- A quick-thinking deputy prevented a tragedy in Oregon when he came upon a toddler wandering down a highway all by himself.

Dashcam video shows the two-year-old boy as he walked down a busy highway, right in front of his patrol car.

The deputy stopped, grabbed the boy and went searching for his parents.

He found them nearby searching for the toddler. The parents say he wandered out an open door after a family gathering at a nearby community center.
