HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man who walked away from a Harris County courthouse after he was convicted last week is back behind bars.

Fugitive who walked away from court captured in Missouri City.

Courtney Lyons, 24, was convicted of deadly conduct on Friday, but during the sentencing phase of his trial, he was allowed to use the restroom unaccompanied, and never came back.

Just after 6:40am today, Missouri City police officers were assisting other agencies on surveillance when they spotted Lyons and tried to pull him over on a traffic stop. Police say he didn't immediately stop, but once he did, Lyons didn't follow officers' commands and had to be removed from his vehicle. Officers say he had marijuana in his possession.

Lyons was arrested for possession of marijuana in a drug free zone, resisting arrest and his outstanding warrant from Harris County. He was transported to the the Fort Bend County Jail for booking.
