Marine arrested in shooting death of college student in Denton

YUMA, AZ (KTRK) -- A suspect wanted in connection with a deadly shooting in Denton on New Year's Eve was apprehended Tuesday.

Eric Jamal Johnson was accused of shooting and killing 20-year-old college student Sara Mutschlechner at an intersection in Denton.

He is reportedly an active duty Marine and was arrested at the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Arizona.

Johnson is being held without bond.

He doesn't have any prior incidents with law enforcement.

Authorities are also looking for the people who were in the car with Johnson that night.
