Man shot in front of his daughter during home invasion in NW Harris County
Neighbors say a man who was just trying to take his daughter school became the victim of a home invasion.

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- A Houston man was shot during a home invasion off Highway 290 just as he set out to drive his daughter to school.



The victim was transported to the hospital from his home on Trail Ridge Drive near Jones Road.



Witnesses say the father opened the garage door this morning to take his daughter to Jersey Village High School, and when he did, five suspects ran in to rob him.



"I saw the man was laying on the ground and they loaded him on the gurney and at that time officials told me to step back," witness Charlie Eadeh says.



Neighbors say they heard a series of gunshots this morning before 8am.



Family members tell us the girl's father was shot and taken to the hospital, and the suspects ran off.



Family members still very concerned about their loved ones.



"She never been in a situation like this before you know, she is probably traumatized right now and worried about how her dad is doing," says Steven Cobbs, the victim's stepfather.



Detectives have not had a chance to speak with us about the home invasion, We understand the suspects are still on the loose.
