Interior designer has been creating 'cool spaces' for years
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Interior Designer Jamie House has been creating 'cool spaces' for more than 15 years.
With a background in Interior Design and Architecture, Jamie's projects have won praise from critics and clients worldwide. Just last year she was chosen as one of HGTV's Fresh Faces of Design for her modern makeovers.
Jamie says the key to her success is being able to pick up on her clients personality quickly, which is a reflection of everyone's style.
"People get really nervous about a designer coming over and feel they need to clean and pick up their home. I like seeing how they live every day before I start on a project. If they leave things out, or have a hobby, that's okay." Jamie says. "It's about designing around your personal lifestyle."
"I call myself a Designer of Lifestyle because I don't just make your home pretty, I make it functional," Jamie says. "I make your life easier by making your home work the way you want your life to."
Jamie House Design is headquartered in Montrose, but she's worked on everything from room remodels to custom built homes - in Houston, the Cayman Islands, Shanghai and beyond.
Jamie says her favorite rooms to design for clients are master bedrooms.
"The master bedroom is the only room in the house that clients will do just for themselves. Every other room in the house is for their kids, their pets, their friends, their neighbors. The master bedroom is just for you, and should be a special treat for yourself. It's personal."
