Medical students learn their future during Match Day 2017

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- It's the day that medical students around the world have been waiting for and an affirmation of their success.

The fourth-year students anxiously waited today to find out where they would complete their training in a residency program.

At UTHealth, more than 200 students participated in Match Day.

The National Resident Matching Program expects more than 42,000 applicants this year.
