Sabra issues voluntary recall for possible listeria
Sabra hummus products recalled over Listeria concerns.

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA (KTRK) -- Sabra Dipping Company is voluntarily recalling some of its hummus products and spreads over concerns of Listeria contamination, the company announced.

The products were made prior to November 8 and distributed to stores across the United States and Canada.

Consumers are urged to discard any product with a "Best Before" date through January 23, 2017. The date is listed on the lid of each package.

Sabra's organic hummus, salsa, guacamole and Greek yogurt dips are not included in the recall.

Some of the products included are:

*Sabra Hummus Caramelized Onion

*Sabra Hummus Classic

*Sabra Hummus Garlic

*Sabra Hummus Red Pepper

Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems, the FDA says. Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
