Traditional Jewish food
Ziggy Gruber from Kenny and Ziggy's shows off traiditonal Jewish food

Happy Hanukkah! The Jewish holiday, which is celebrated over eight days and nights, recognizes the re-dedication of the holy Temple in Jerusalem.

All over the world, Jewish families gather to mark the holiday with the lighting of the menorah and traditional Jewish foods.

Ziggy Gruber, Houston's favorite "Deli Man," came to the studio to share some of the traditional Hanukkah he serves at Kenny & Ziggy's Deli. The spread included several fried items, which symbolize the oil that burned for eight days.

Fried items like potato and vegetable latkes and jelly donuts are a typical part of the celebration. Additionally, Ziggy brought a brisket that had been cooked for five hours, cabbage rolls, and a noodle kugel (a sweet, baked noodle casserole).

You don't have to wait for Hanukkah to enjoy these traditional favorites. Kenny & Ziggy's serves them year-round!
