HOUSTON -- The Galveston Island Beach Revue kicks off Friday, May 16th at 6 p.m. with an evening of live music, introduction of the 2014 Bathing Beauties and a showing of "Girl Happy" featuring Elvis Presley on the outdoor big screen at Beach Central. Admission to the two day event is free and all ages are welcome. In addition, Southern Star Brewing Company will be on hand both days of the festival at a special craft beer booth.

This weekend the Houston Grand Opera presents Die Fledermaus at Miller Outdoor Theatre. Prince Orlofsky's costume ball - the most coveted invitation of the year - drives the action of this funny, clever operetta, set in 1920's New York with beautiful art deco scenes and costumes. The show takes place Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. each night.
Also at Miller Outdoor Theatre, on Monday, May 19, a bilingual production of Three Little Pigs will hit the stage at 11 a.m. The Express Children's Theatre show is about three brothers...one messy, one a daydreamer and the other always has a plan for the future.
