HOUSTON (KTRK) -- All right, all right, all right! Guess who's giving the commencement speech to UH graduates this spring?
Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey will speak to the nearly 5,000 University of Houston graduates who walk across the stage at TDECU Stadium on Friday, May 15.
"We are delighted and honored that Matthew McConaughey has agreed to give the first Commencement address in our beautiful new football stadium," says University of Houston President Renu Khator,
It seems fitting, since McConaughey's father, 'Big Jim' McConaughey, once played football for the Cougars.
McConaughey is a Texas native, having been born in Uvalde.
